This was some fudge bought for me by my good lady, at the Good Food Show.
Unfortunately, I’m not a fan. It could be that the Liquorice fudge had tainted the flavour of the others, but generally the texture was all wrong for me- pop it into your mouth, and it just fades away into nothing.
I was also disappointed with the Apple and Custard flavour – sounds excellent on paper, but just tasted artificial, and not exactly pleasant.
The Vimto flavour was better – I could manage to eat that one…

I think I have a new favourite fudge shop!
BobBon in Brixham, Devon was stumbled upon by chance, on a wet summers day. This place is fantastic! It’s right up there with Fudgies, but has even more choice of flavours. It claims over 70 flavours, and they range from Blueberry Cheesecake, to Death by Chocolate. I had to sample 5 or 6 different flavours, and they were all top notch. S beautifully creamy, soft fudge.
Too many flavours to mention, but highlights are:
They also had a flavour I can’t remember the name of, but it tasted exactly like mince pies – gorgeous!

An old fashioned sweet shop in a quirky shopping outlet / village type thing. Next door to Hatton Adventure World, for the kids.
Over 30 different flavours, including the ubiquitous Lemon Meringue pie.
Not a huge selection of fruity ones (apparently they do a rhubarb and vanilla one, which sounds nice, but it wasn’t available when we went), which can be nice, but otherwise they were pretty good – smooth and flavourful. Slightly expensive (over £2 per 100g), but worth a visit if you’re nearby.
Huge range of other sweets can be bought here – bonbons, aniseed balls, rhubarb and custard, etc. I could go bankrupt if I spent too long here!

A weekend visit to a National Trust property, had the added bonus of an old fashioned sweet shop, including “home made” fudge. Well, it would have been rude not to sample it!
A very nice, creamy fudge – the fruity ones have a real “burst” of fruit in them – definitely all natural and home made in small batches.
Flavours:
Bonus points for nice ice cream too!

Not a particularly imaginative company name, but probably the creamiest fudge you can find. I think a “Man Vs Food” challenge should be to eat more than 50g of this in one setting – it’s so rich.
Flavours Available:
Shops in Bath, Canterbury, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Lightwater Valley, Oxford, Windsor and York. Also online shop.

Coronation Chicken Fudge.
Yes, you read that right, Coronation Chicken Fudge.
Fortunately, they do nicer “Normal” fudge, and a large selection can be purchased on line. It’s a nice soft, creamy fudge with good flavouring.
Flavours Available:
Church Street, Barmouth Gwynedd, LL421EW
Rather oddly, this one doesn’t have a website. Quite simply the best fudge we’ve tasted. Large number of flavours, all deliciously soft and chewy.
Flavours Available:
As a bonus they do some very tasty pasties and ice cream too.

A Gentlemen’s Weekend found us down in Dartmouth just after the Regatta. After a hearty Cream Tea brunch, we wondered off to find fudge.
This is a crumbly fudge, with a large range of flavours. Unfortunately, none were particularly strong – most tasting much like the other. Highlights were the Apple and cinnamon, and coffee.
Flavours Available:
Bonus points should be awarded for their Ice Cream – they fill the bottom of the cone with left over crumbly fudgy bits. Mmmmm….
